MERCEDES BENZ
US HEADQUARTERS
Atlanta, GA
* Project with Gensler as Design Director
When Mercedes-Benz decided to move their US headquarters from New Jersey to Atlanta, they wanted to take the opportunity to rethink the way they work. Collaboration, choice of work style, amenities and brand were top of mind for them.
The workspace design prioritizes connectivity through parallel "work-bars" joined by a daylit atrium. Bridges spanning the atrium host amenities, meeting and social spaces. This arrangement maximizes natural light while enabling more employees to work on the same level, fostering cross-departmental interaction throughout the day.
The arrival sequence starts with the parking structure and is a celebration of the Mercedes, with a curated vehicle display forming the campus front door. This extends into the main level of the central atrium which serves as both a “town hall” and gallery space telling the story of Mercedes-Benz heritage and culture.
